The answer is very simple for me. I missed something in my work as a midwife. I saw so many women in a row that I could no longer really engage in conversation. Everything revolved around time pressure, speed, and almost about production.
And because a pregnancy is not just about check-ups, measurements, and results (of course, those are important). But there is also a need for something else: to pause. To look. To enjoy. To truly experience the most special moment of your life.
In the consultation room, there is often little time for that. Everything has a medical purpose. With a prenatal ultrasound, there is absolutely nothing that needs to be done. No rush, no checklist. Just you, your partner, maybe your children... and your baby.
I find it special to see what happens when parents can calmly look at their child. A hand in front of the face. A yawn. A smile. Sometimes an enthusiastic kick against the ultrasound. Those are moments you never forget.

And perhaps the most beautiful part: there is time to talk. To ask questions. To share uncertainties. To have someone in front of you who not only performs the ultrasound but has also stood by pregnant women as a midwife for many years.
For me, a prenatal ultrasound is therefore much more than a nice photo or video. And that is why I do this work with great pleasure. There is so much connection during these ultrasounds. Between mother and baby, between mother and partner. But also between me and the couple that is with me. Pausing and looking at the miracle in your belly.
Letting ourselves pause is something we hardly ever get to do these days... So how special it is that I can give you this piece in complete peace.
That is exactly why I love doing this. 🤍
